This belief guides our choice to use rustic lumber for many of our handcrafted pieces. These boards, often overlooked due to their natural imperfections, serve as a powerful metaphor for life, faith, and the art of woodworking.

Rustic lumber is often seen as flawed—marked by cracks, knots, saw marks, and variations in color. While some might pass over these boards in search of something more "perfect," we see their imperfections as opportunities. Just as God embraces us with all our flaws, working within us to reveal our greatest beauty, we take these raw, imperfect boards and mold them into something extraordinary.
Each piece of wood we select is carefully inspected, not to reject its flaws, but to understand how these imperfections will contribute to its unique character. The process of transforming this rustic lumber into a finished piece mirrors our own journey—filled with challenges, yet leading to something far greater than we could have imagined.

The Journey of Transformation
The path from rough lumber to a finished board is a meticulous one, filled with care, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the material. Each step in this journey is a powerful analogy for our own growth and refinement:
Inspection and Selection: We start by carefully selecting each piece of wood, looking beyond the surface to see the potential within its imperfections. Just as God sees beyond our flaws, we see the inherent beauty in each piece of rustic lumber.
Measurement and Cutting: The boards are then measured and cut to size, correcting any geometry issues from the mill. This step is crucial, much like how we must sometimes be reshaped and realigned in life to find our true path.
Filling and Repairing: Cracks, holes, and knots are filled to ensure stability. These repairs represent the internal changes we undergo on our journey, strengthening us for the challenges ahead.
Sanding: The boards are sanded to a smooth finish, removing rough edges and preparing them for the next steps. This is where the raw material begins to take on a new form, just as life’s experiences smooth out our rough spots.
Conditioning: A wood conditioner is applied to nourish and protect the wood, preparing it for burning and staining. This step is like the spiritual nourishment we need to protect and prepare ourselves for the trials of life.
Laser Etching: The wood is then burned and etched, a subtractive process that reveals the intricate designs within. This is where the true beauty of the piece emerges, much like how our own beauty is often revealed through the challenges and refining fires we face.
Branding: Our company logo is carefully burned onto the back of each board, claiming our work and leaving our mark. It’s a testament to the care and craftsmanship that went into each piece, just as God’s hand is evident in the intricate details of our lives.
Final Touches: After the burn, the board is cleaned and allowed to rest. We then apply a stain to bring out the wood’s natural beauty, followed by a beeswax sealant to protect it from the elements. These final steps prepare the board for service, just as we are prepared to fulfill our purpose in life.
