Meet Shawn McGinnis

Shawn McGinnis is a versatile talent—musician, teacher, videographer, and co-creator of Sweet Bee Artisan Boards. With degrees in music education and music theory from the University of North Texas, Shawn’s journey began in the world of music. In a fun twist of fate, he was Phoebe’s band director in junior high. Little did they know that life would bring them back together years later, leading to a loving relationship and the creation of Sweet Bee.

For 30 years, Shawn has balanced being an educator with freelance videography, capturing performances of choirs, bands, theater groups, and mariachi ensembles throughout the metroplex. His expertise in cutting-edge audio and video technology has helped these groups achieve recognition at regional, state, national, and international levels. Whether he’s behind the camera or crafting a wooden board, Shawn’s commitment to excellence and creativity shines through.

In his spare time, Shawn enjoys playing musical instruments, 3D printing, woodworking, and biking. His lively home includes one child, two dogs, and five cats, keeping him busy and fulfilled. Amidst it all, Shawn cherishes time with Phoebe, sharing the joy of their creative endeavors and the life they’ve built together.
